  • This Bunna certainly exceeds every expectation the team of The Duchess had. We knew it was exquisite, and after having been finished on PX, it became clear that this was an absolute winner.
The colour of this whisky certainly gives away the PX finish. Though not as black as some whiskies can come out of a PX cask, you can see the hints of sherry casks in the auburn-tawny colour.

Nose: The first whiff directly introduces the eminent yet mild peat smoke, accompanied by red forest fruit such as blackberries and currants. Lapsang black tea and Almond, chestnuts are presenting themselves, but more in the background. After some time in the glass hints of apricots and honey begin to develope. Something Bunna is known to have.

Taste: The mild peat smoke in the nose certainly introduces himself in the taste, Mòine and Lapsang Souchong; it's like having a whisky and a barbecue at once! The earlier mentioned red forest fruits like Blackcurrants and blackberries are once again present. The dram has a some creaminess in it, a very pleasant mouthfeel but Lapsang Souchong is the mayor player here.

Finish: A long finish that brings us Shiitake mushrooms, honeycomb and pear drop sweetness combined with apricot marmalade.
